Tak Fok Hong Kong Seafood Restaurant

Friday night, craving for seafood. What to do, Missmynx talked about going for seafood on Wednesday but  had to cancel the plans cause of rain and heavy traffic. So Friday night, decided to just head on over to a seafood restaurant to eat.

Guess what I’m doing.

Not any restaurants mind you, I had a specific place I want to go that’s nearby. The place of choice? Tak Fok Hong Kong Seafood Restaurant in Kepong. Discovered the place some time back and whenever I had craving for seafood, that’s the place to go.

Crawling through the jam, we got there about 7.30pm, found a place to seat and quickly ordered the food of our choice. It’s easy when we already know what we want to order and isn’t it nice if anyone who plans to eat would already have a pre-determined menu in mind instead of standing there and thinking of what to eat. (I’ll keep that rant for another time)

Anyway, it took them 15minutes to serve us the first dish. Marmit Crab, one of my favorite dish aside from the Butter Crab and the Sweet Sour Crab. 1KG is only RM18 (for dine in only) and there’s about 3 crabs per KG which IMHO worth every single ringgit paid.

The second dish to arrive was the Mantis Prawn aka Lai Liu Har (Direct translation from Cantonese – PISSING PRAWN). Served with dried chili and onions, quite good and crunchy but after eating the one I had in Pangkor Island, I find this one dish just on the ok only range.  Note to self, next time there, must order the Mantis Prawn in Cereals.

The 3rd dish served was the only vegetable dish we had for the night. Romaine Lettuce aka Yau Mak. It’s the same everywhere you go and I’m sure you’re sick on seeing this little vegetable dish on almost every one of my food posts. LOL

The last dish to arrive after some time was the Steamed fish, I forgot the name of the fish but it was steamed with loads of finely chopped ginger. They don’t come in small portions cause when I ordered, I was told that for all fish dishes, it’s always one whole fish. We manage to finish this dish nevertheless, down to the bones!

Well, that’s about it for us. Took about 1 1/2 hours to completely devour all those sea creatures. Definitely worth another trip in the near future. Sorry for the blur photos as my camera was acting up that night.
