Malaysia’s General Election is ON!

One of the things we should be asking now that the General Election is ON is… (Why I’m posting this is because, I’ve been asked since the announcements about where to go and so on and so forth like I actually worked for the Election Commission… duuuuuuuuuuuh!)

Do you know which Polling Station you’re going to place your votes?
What you can do is, nearing the dates of the votes which is Scheduled to be on the 8th of March, 2008 is to head to the nearest Operation Center aka Bilik Gerakan that would be set up near your home or the place you are registered to vote in. See the 2nd Question below to know which Constituency you’re voting under.

If you’ve registered, how could you check whether your registration is inside the SPR’s database?
Head on to daftarj.spr.gov.my/ and check on your status and your voting constituency. You will not be able to find the exact polling station through this database so do go to the nearest Operation Center with your Identification Card to check.

For example, I’ve checked my Constituency and it’s in the Petaling Jaya North, with that information, I can just go to any Bilik Gerakan in Petaling Jaya North, enquire within by referring through the I/C no. and they’d be able to inform me where my polling station is located at.

I hope this help with your voting this coming March. If this is your first time, vote wisely for a Government that would serve you well, allow Pork to be sold freely and still allow us to have a good life as it is now.

Here’s another tip: Don’t bother going early as the polling station won’t close until 5pm. Take your time, go around lunch time or after lunch and you’d be able to walk in without lining up under the hot sun. Go too early in the morning and it’ll take you about an hour or so before you could get into the Voting station to cast your vote.

Again, good luck, vote for the right government and not one that would be biased to one particular race.
