Utter Discrimination by the Selangor Government!
This is a discrimination on the Selangor Government part, just because they think the Selangor citizens are rich enough to pay for the summons that there’s no need to be like the other states like Perak and Penang to cancel off the summons?
What happened to the equality that they speak of when they first talk about when fishing for voters votes? Where’s all those words about being equal with all the states that is being run by Barisan Rakyat? Just empty words?
From TheStar: Khalid: Selangor will not cancel parking compounds
SHAH ALAM: The state government will not cancel parking compounds like its counterparts in Perak and Penang has done.
Instead, it will work to resolve the issue of limited parking bays.
Mentri Besar Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim said the government could not make a blanket decision to cancel the old compounds as it would be unfair to those who had settled their dues.
“Adequate parking bays must be available and this will prevent indiscriminate parking.
“We must get an overview of the parking woes in the state. If the enforcement officers at local councils continue to issue compounds then something is surely wrong in the allocation of parking bays,” he said after witnessing the handing over of over RM6mil in tithes collection to the Selangor Tithes Board (LZS) at Istana Bukit Kayangan here.
Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah was present together with LZS board chairman Datuk Mohamad Adzib Mohd Isa.
Khalid said parking woes would be one of the issues to be discussed with the new executive councillors next week.
On the possibility of a discount on the compounds, Khalid said: “I will not be able to decide on this now but it will be discussed collectively with the new executive councillors next week once they are sworn in.”
On Selangor Barisan Nasional having four ministers despite losing the state, he said: “We will discuss with the ministers on how the new government can work together to channel federal funds to aid districts in the state which need development.”
